A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was logged by the U.S. Geological Survey at around 4:14 a.m. Eastern Time, with its epi centre near Decatur, Tennessee, which is approximately 150 miles from Nashville.

An aftershock and resulting tremors were felt about 13 minutes later with a magnitude of 3.3, said the USGS.
As reported by Atlanta TV station WXIA, the earthquake was felt as far as the northern regions of Georgia.
Confused local residents took to social media, including Twitter, to confirm the earthquake. The hashtag #earthquake is once again among the top trending searches on Twitter as of Wednesday morning.
There have been no confirmed reports of grave damage or injuries.
